My name is Akorede da-Silva. I have wandered around designs for as long as I have had had breath in me. I started with drawing and painting while growing up. I believed I could tell my own story with art and let people in on my thought process, and it’s been a fantastic journey thus far. Over the years, I have had a brief stint in architecture and resonated with how creative ideas are brought to life partly due to my real estate background. After university, I decided to venture into what I would call one of my life goals, which are to venture into the tech space. So I went online and enrolled for product school courses to have an idea of what UI/UX entails and product design generally. It should be noted that product design is a holistic approach to building a new product from start to finish while putting into consideration several factors like What? How? When? Why? and Where? which would make the product a success both the consumer and the client.

In addition to that, I also enrolled in HNG UI/UX internship to test myself and learn with my peers under the guidance of seasoned professionals, which was an eventful journey. After my first stint, I decided I had to know more about graphic design to aid my creative thinking which prompted me to enroll for a paid one-on-one class to practicalize design, and now, I find myself in the WeJapa internship as I want to learn UI/UX design at my pace.

The dream is to hone my design skill, practice, and iterate for as long as I can until I am qualified to monetize my new found talent.
